7D 6N Jeju Island Sample Itinerary

Winter I think is one of the best times to visit Jeju Island, South Korea. Most of the blogs I read said it is a haven for honeymooners and the were indeed right. Even on winter, a lot of lovers (because I don’t know if they’re honeymooners) were present but the local crowd was minimal and foreign tourist were almost non-existent.

Most of the tourist spots like the waterfalls, the crowd was just a handful so it was really nice to take photos without heads blocking the view.

But how to cover most of the tourist spots? I commuted using public transportation – bus and taxi, during my stay because I don’t know how to drive and I don’t have an international license. If you have this two requirements then I suggest you rent a car, it will really save you time.

This itinerary can be done by both travellers who choose to commute or with a rented car.

(You can also read how to hike Mt. Halla, South Korea’s highest mountain here)

Day 1

Arrive in Jeju International Airport from 6hrs plane ride from either KLIA, HK or any local airport in Seoul.

Buy T-money card at 7/11, 4th floor just across the international arrival area

Take limousine bus no. 600 or ask for any bus to Seogwipo City. Check-in at hotel or homestay, rest and look around town during dinner.

Day 2

Wake up early, make sure to check what time the sunrise is so that you’ll time it for sunrise viewing. Usually it’s around 6-7am so better start at Seogwipo 2 hours earlier.

📌 Take bus at the terminal near Jeju World Cup Stadium bound to Seongsan Ilchulbong for sunrise viewing
📌 Take bus or taxi to Seongsan Harbor bound for Udo Island just near Seongsan Ilchulbong; hop on a ferry boat
📌 Bike ride tour Udo Island

Day 3

📌 Jeju Island Folk Village Museum
📌 Jeongbang Waterfalls
📌 Cheonjiyeon Waterfalls
📌 Jusangjeolli Cliff
📌 Odolgae Rock

The same bus terminal for Jeju Village Museum and you’ll be passing by the other tourist spots mentioned. I suggest you go first to the museum and work your way backwards. At least you’ll be near your hotel or homestay from the last attraction.

Spend at least 30 minutes maximum at each location except for the village museum where you’ll need an hour and a half. You need to alot waiting time for the bus.

Day 4

📌 Hike Mt. Hallasan or try hiking one segment of Olle trail

If you are not into hiking, you can do the activities for day 5 or go shopping at Lotte Duty Free, Jungmun area. Your purchases can be claimed at the airport.

Day 5

📌 O’Sulloc Museum
📌 Camellia Hill
📌 Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls
📌 Teddy Bear Museum
📌 Yeomji Botanical Garden
📌 KPop

O’Sulloc Museum is rather overrated and you can actually skip it as you need to transfer bus to reach it. If you decide to skip it, head off to Camellia Hill because it is way off the national highway then take bus to Cheonjeyeon Falls, their is a huge signage so you won’t miss it then take the bus again to Teddy Bear Museum, and the others attractions are already walking distance.

Head back to hotel/homestay and travel to Jeju City. Check in and rest.

Day 6

📌 Manjanggul Cave
📌 Maze Land
📌 Loveland

You can head first to Manjanggul Cave (Maze Land is just across it) because it is around 1 and 1/2 hour ride from Jeju City or go Loveland first.

Then go back to hotel and enjoy a relaxing rest.

    1. Hi Sophie! you can get the bus routes from the tourist information center located at airport, Jeju City and Seogwipo City (in front of bus terminal beside Jeju world cup museum) bus 201 rounds the island with a 20min waiting time at bus stops connecting tourist spots so no worries as long as you have time on your hands.
